CHIP TUNING (chiptuning, ECU Remapping) - the process of changing the standard firmware of the engine control unit to a modified one to increase power characteristics, torque, and fuel efficiency. All modern cars are equipped with an Engine Control Unit (ECU/DME/ECM), or a computer, that controls all aspects of engine operation: the fuel-air mixture, ignition timing, injector operation, air boost control (in turbocharged vehicles), etc. Modifying the engine control firmware to increase power, torque, flexibility, and fuel efficiency is what chip tuning is all about. Note that chip tuning and installing a chip box are completely different things, and a chip box cannot be considered a professional solution.

Depending on the engine, the level of limitations and capabilities, as well as the goals set, there are several main types of tuning:
- Changing the power class - restoring “stolen” capacity at the plant. It is used when a factory produces the same engine, but software limits its power on different models. With our help, you can remove this restriction.
- Eco-tuning - the goal of such tuning is to reduce fuel consumption as much as possible.
- Stage 1 - the most popular type of tuning for Passenger cars. It does not require mechanical modifications and provides an increase in power and torque by an average of 30% (on software-limited cars up to 105%), without a significant increase in fuel consumption, and more often even by reducing it down to 1.5 l/100 km.
- Stage 2 - a more “aggressive” setting, which requires minor mechanical modifications (removing the catalyst and/or panel filter).
- Stage 3 and higher - belongs to the "Power tuning" class and requires significant mechanical modifications (exhaust, intake, turbines, etc.), allowing you to increase power compared to from the factory, several times

CHIP TUNING JUST INCREASE POWER?
NO. High-quality chip tuning is a completely new experience from your car. Its entire character changes. The engine produces more torque, which is why the car becomes “lighter”, the feeling of heaviness disappears when picking up speed, driving in the city becomes much more pleasant, and on the highway, thanks to the smooth torque, you get stable acceleration and confidence when overtaking. We eliminate traction failure at certain speeds - the engine “spins up” willingly right up to the cut-off. A vivid example is an owner who was looking for a BMW X5 f15 4.0d 313hp, which costs almost 10 thousand euros more than a similar car with a 3.0d 258hp engine. - You can RESTORE "STOLEN" POWER by changing the power class. Many modern cars have identical engines but different power outputs, which are intentionally limited at the factory. Changing the power class means removing these restrictions. Examples of such restrictions include VAG 1.6d (74hp and 105hp - identical), as well as VAG 2.0d/3.0d, BMW 2.0i/2.8i (185hp and 245hp) and their diesel engines 1.6d/1.8d/2.2d (except for the new 1.6), Volvo (D3 and D5 are identical), etc. The main advantage is that you can buy a cheaper car, pay less in taxes, and, by changing the power class, have all the benefits of a more powerful model. An example of such a model is the BMW 116d with a 2-liter engine, which gains 74hp and 140Nm just by removing intentionally imposed restrictions and becomes a full-fledged BMW 120d. The owner of such a car pays road tax as for a 116d, but in fact, after our work, receives a 120d with Stage 1 tuning.

HOW DOES THE CHIP TUNING PROCEDURE HAPPEN?
We take a responsible approach to the tuning process. We perform diagnostics on the turbocharger, injectors, intake system for air leaks, ecological systems (EGR/DPF/Catalyst), and more. Then we proceed to work directly with the engine control unit. We read the original engine control program, modify it, and write it back. Since we use only original, high-quality equipment, on most vehicles, reading the original firmware from the engine control unit and writing the modified file is done through the car's diagnostic connector. In other words, we will not disassemble, open, or connect to the engine control unit, ensuring complete safety. In cases where work through the OBD port is not possible, we use specially designed devices to carefully remove the unit, open it, connect to it (without the need for soldering), and reassemble it just like at the factory. It is worth noting that even in this case, thanks to our equipment, most units will not require opening after removal - we just need to connect directly to the unit. In any case, and with any type of work, we guarantee complete safety and fully cover all risks. After the modified file is written, additional diagnostics and a test drive are performed, after which a decision is made regarding any necessary adjustments. When everything is ready, we hand the vehicle back to the client. We also retain files (original and modified) in our database for the vehicle in case it needs to be returned to its original state (for example, before a dealer visit for a warranty-covered vehicle).
